Pakistani Mangoes Arrive in UAE

Pakistani Mangoes Arrive in UAE

Now is the official kickoff of mango season!

Great news! Pakistani mangoes have made their way to the UAE, kicking off the mango season. Despite some challenges due to weather changes back in Pakistan, sellers in the UAE are happy with the amount of mangoes they’ve got this year.

Last week (on May 23), the first batch of Pakistani mangoes arrived in the UAE. Mustafa Altaf, who runs Altaf Hussain Trading Co., says they’ve received a big load of about 4,600 tonnes of Sindhri mangoes.

People everywhere love Pakistani mangoes, especially the Sindhri and Chaunsa types. They’re famous for their yummy taste and nice smell.

But this year, prices are a bit higher because of inflation and more expensive shipping, which have jumped from Rs280 to Rs320. Yaseen predicts that freight rates could climb an additional two to five percent in the coming months.

Suppliers are passing on these increased expenses to consumers, according to Mustafa Altaf. Currently, a box of 6kg Sindhri mangoes is selling for Dh28-30 in the wholesale market.

Climate change is causing some issues back in Pakistan. It’s affecting how many mangoes they can grow. But don’t worry, they’re still sending plenty of mangoes to the UAE.

In the next few weeks, we’ll see more mangoes arriving in the UAE. Mustafa Altaf promises that they’re good quality and won’t be spoiled by bad weather.

Even with challenges, Pakistani mangoes are still the best. They’re loved all over the world for their amazing pulp and taste.
