Ramadan Campaign by Dubai Cares Brightens Gaza

“Gaza In Our Hearts” is an exciting Ramadan campaign that Dubai Cares, a devoted organization associated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications, has developed in the spirit of kindness and shared responsibility. Recognizing decreasing needs and the community’s desire to help, this project aims to bring together the UAE community to deliver important emergency relief for the people of Gaza.

Inspired by the success of the UAE’s “Tarahum for Gaza” project, the new campaign aims to raise funds for urgent assistance. The focus is on providing hot meals, food baskets, and sturdy tents to fulfill this vital mission.

Dubai Cares joins forces with its trusted ally, Anera (American Near East Refugee Aid), in a strategic partnership to ensure the swift and efficient delivery of life-saving aid. This collaboration opens aid routes, providing a vital lifeline for Gazans in need.

“The UAE’s response to the war in Gaza was immediate, with the entire country, including the UAE government, charitable and philanthropic organizations, businesses, and the wider community, joining efforts to provide life-saving aid. With the conflict entering its sixth month, access to food and shelter has become critically low, leaving many Gazans facing severe food insecurity reaching catastrophic levels. Through the ‘Gaza In Our Hearts’ campaign, we are providing members of the community the opportunity to unite and respond to this urgent need with a sense of responsibility and empowerment. We hope that through this campaign and our strategic partnership with Anera, we will not only alleviate hunger and suffering, but also nurture hope, resilience, and dignity.”

As of February 2024, the numbers speak volumes—1.7 million displaced, over 75 percent of Gaza’s population affected, and 29,313 lives lost since October 2023. Anera, through its President and CEO Sean C. Carroll, pledges to keep the momentum going, delivering millions of meals and essentials to Gaza, with your unwavering support.

Sean C. Carroll, President and CEO of Anera, highlighted the importance of supporting Gaza, especially during Ramadan. Through collaboration with Dubai Cares and the UAE community, Anera ensures donations reach those in need. With their on-the-ground presence, they’ve already provided nearly 20 million meals in Gaza since October 7. With continued support, they aim to deliver at least 5 million more meals during Ramadan and continue addressing emergency needs while working towards recovery and reconstruction.
