UAE Government Declares Epic 9-Day Break for Eid Al Fitr Festivities
Brace yourselves for a whopping nine-day vacation bonanza…
In an announcement made on Sunday, the UAE government has granted a generous one-week holiday for its public sector employees. Starting from Monday, April 8, they’ll have a whole week off until Sunday, April 14. Then, work will start again on Monday, April 15.
This means federal government workers will enjoy nine days off, including the usual weekend days, Saturday and Sunday.
Eid Al Fitr is on the first day of Shawwal, the month after Ramadan. Even though the official start of Eid depends on the sighting of the moon, the holiday will begin on April 8. According to the Islamic calendar, Ramadan lasts either 29 or 30 days, depending on the moon.
As the final countdown to the holy month’s curtain call begins, excitement electrifies the air across the UAE. They’re getting ready for what’s known as the longest public holiday of the year.
This announcement isn’t just about a time-out for the workforce. It’s a nod to honoring traditions and ensuring that everyone has a chance to recharge their batteries and savor the sweetness of life’s celebrations.
