UAE Weather Alert: Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms, Hail Expected

UAE on high alert as unstable weather warning declared…

Unstable weather is expected to bring heavy rains, thunderstorms, and even hail to the UAE in the coming days. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has cautioned that lightning and thunder may accompany these storms, potentially leading to flooding in certain areas. Additionally, strong winds are expected, which could result in reduced visibility. These conditions are expected to last until Wednesday morning, with winds reaching speeds of up to 65kmph and rough seas.

On Wednesday, the northern and eastern parts of the country will experience rainfall, which should taper off by evening. Fortunately, Thursday looks clearer with no rain in the forecast.

In Oman, heavy rains led to flash floods, requiring emergency rescues. Extreme weather like this isn’t new to the region. In mid-March, the country faced severe weather, leading the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) to closely watch and take action to reduce risks. The bad weather started on March 9, with heavy rain and thunder hitting different areas, causing showers, dark skies, and strong winds the next day. People were advised to stay indoors, events were canceled, and recreational areas closed for safety. In February, heavy rainfall disrupted daily life, leading to remote work arrangements and precautions for outdoor activities. Authorities emphasize the need for safety in unpredictable weather.
