Dubai Metro Alert – Avoid Crowds During Rush Hours
Dubai’s Transit Troubles Continue as 4 Stations Stay Shut…
Following last week’s heavy rain in the UAE, Dubai Metro services are still feeling the effects. While the Red Line is running in both directions, four stations – Onpassive, Equiti, Al Mashreq, and Energy – remain closed.
This closure has led to overcrowding at other stations, especially during peak hours. In response, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is advising commuters to steer clear of the metro during these busy times. They suggest planning journeys around operational stations until everything is back to normal.
The RTA also announced changes to the Red Line schedule. Currently, the metro is running from Centrepoint to Expo 2020 and UAE Exchange stations. If you’re traveling from Centrepoint, you’ll need to switch at Business Bay or Al Khail stations. From there, shuttle buses will take you to the next operational station.
But, some commuters are facing difficulties due to infrequent shuttle services. Overcrowding has been reported at stations like Abu Hail and Red Business Bay (Al Safa side), causing delays and frustration.
To cope with the situation, the RTA is asking commuters to follow staff instructions and signage at stations for a smoother journey.
