Dubai and Sharjah Residents Struggle with Dh600 Towing Charges Amid Floods

Residents in Dubai and Sharjah are facing steep towing costs for cars after heavy rainfall…

Many residents in Dubai and Sharjah are dealing with increased towing fees for cars stuck in flooded streets. The prices have gone up drastically, leaving people struggling with extra expenses.

Shahzod Karimov, a restaurant owner from Uzbekistan, had to leave his car in Al Barsha during heavy rain. When he tried to retrieve it, he was asked for Dh600 to tow it just a short distance.

Another resident paid Dh550 to tow his car a short distance, way more than the usual cost.

Higher towing fees are causing financial strain for many residents. Automobile experts note that the demand for towing has sharply increased due to the rains, resulting in elevated prices. Towing companies defend their prices, saying they take risks to rescue vehicles stuck in water.

In response to the situation, towing companies are deploying additional resources to assist affected residents.
